Indian Oil clinch DY Patil title

Indian Oil scored an impressive win over Canara Bank in the finals of the 12.5 lakhs prize money Dr DY Patil Twenty20 cricket tournament played at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Nerul. Indian Oil beat Canara Bank by 32 runs. Indian Oil elected to bat after winning the toss and scored 182 for 6 wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane and Mithun Beerala had a fine opening partnership of 66 runs of 48 balls for the first wicket. After the fall of the first wicket Anirudh Joshi of Canara Bank applied brakes on the Indian Oil batting by bowling tight. In that spell, Anirudh took 3 wickets giving away just 18 runs. Ajinkya Rahane was the top scorer for Indian Oil with 55 of 39 balls with five fours and one six.

In reply, Canara Bank scored 150 all out in 17.4 overs. There were two worthwhile partnerships in their innings. Bharat Chipli chipped in with 28 of 15 balls with 1x4 and 3x6 and Deepak Chougule 30 of 21 balls with 4x4. Canara Bank were
cruising along well till the 16th over in their run chase. In the 17th over Rohit Sharma took two wickets and in the 18th over Shrikant Wagh took two wickets, hence Canara Bank lost their way.
