The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) snub has angered and hurt Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi, however he believes that things should move on in order to bridge the divide between India and Pakistan.

In a press release, Afridi said he was deeply hurt and angered by the way Pakistani cricketers were treated during the IPL auction, but he is willing to forgive and forget what has happened and look forward.

Afridi said he does not want to dig further into the issue, which could worsen ties between both the countries, rather work to bridge the gap.

“I’m therefore willing to forgive and forget what has happened and look forward. When you think about it, Pakistan and India share much more things in common than there are differences, we need to build our relations rather than break them,” PakPassion.net quoted Afridi, as saying.

Afridi said he would happily accept India’s invitation to play there in future.

“If I am invited to play in India again I would do so happily, they have great fans and great stadiums and I have many friends there. Sport should be used to build peace between our great nations, not break them,” Afridi said.
