As the mid-season break begins, many drivers will retreat from the hustle and bustle of Formula 1 to recharge their batteries before the Belgian Grand Prix weekend at the end of August.

Mark Webber, for one, will spend the tranquil month relaxing in Europe with a lot of cycling away from the fast-paced life of F1.

“I will spend the August break quietly in the south of France,” the Red Bull driver told F1Pulse.com.

“It will give me a chance to get out on my bike and take in some of the most spectacular and picturesque climbs in the world.”

The 34-year-old had mentioned ahead of the recently concluded Hungarian Grand Prix that he intended to leave on Monday morning after the race for his vacation.

Webber had been recently reported to retire after the 2012 season, a rumour that team principal Christian Horner dismissed.

However, the Australian revealed that when he does eventually end his Formula 1 career, he intends to watch his home team play cricket away in India.

“It’s unlikely that I will visit India prior to the Grand Prix but post my career, one of my ambitions is to come and watch Australia play India in India!” he said.

“I have a lot of cricketing friends and they’ve told me it’s something I must experience so I’m looking forward to that one day,” he added.
