Delhi Police have made elaborate traffic arrangements for the Hockey World Cup, including vehicular and pedestrian movement, parking and safety of visitors.
"Only labelled vehicles will be allowed entry. Accredited or verified guests and high denomination ticket holders can park their vehicles near Rajpath and avail shuttle service up to the stadium. However, there is no parking for spectators' vehicles at National Stadium," joint commissioner of police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said.
The spectators can park their vehicles at Bhairon Mandir parking and Zoo parking.
As there would be traffic restrictions, Garg advised motorists to avoid India Gate and its radial roads. "These may be congested during the World Cup. Traffic Police may also close part or entire India gate circle for general traffic, from time to time," he said.
The police are also undertaking an experimental traffic diversion at India gate between 8-10 pm tomorrow.
"People should avoid India Gate tomorrow evening. If that plan is found to be successful, we may implement it for complete duration of the World Cup," Garg said.
The police has also advised spectators coming to the stadium to not bring mobiles, bags, briefcase, eatables, radio, tape recorder, camera, binocular, digital diary, palm-top computer, remote controlled car lock keys, arms and ammunition, match box, lighter, knife, razor, scissors, screwdriver and blade.
The Hockey World Cup starts from February 28.
