MUMBAI: Daily News & Analysis photographer Ramesh Nair was named Best Photographer at the Tata sports journalism annual awards on Thursday.
 
Dhiman Sarkar of The Hindustan Times, Kolkata, and Shailesh Chaturvedi of Daninik Hindustan, New Delhi, captured three top honours apiece - including the best writer award in their categories.
 
The award winners received their trophies from sports persons, including cricket and hockey legends Sunil Gavaskar and Dhanraj Pillai, multiple-time national men's table tennis champions Gautam Diwan and Kamlesh Mehta, ace woman shooter Anjali Bhagwat, cue specialists Yasin Merchant and Devendra Joshi and former national basketball captain Abbas Moontasir.
 
The awards were given by the Sports Journalists Federation of India.
