Having qualified for the semifinals, Mumbai Indians are expected to give their bench strength a chance against Delhi Daredevils here on Tuesday and the visitors think that could help them in their crucial game on Tuesday.

“Mumbai Indians are a tough side but since they have already reached the semifinals they may go for some experiments. We will leave no stone unturned to snatch a win here and seal a last four spot,” Delhi coach Greg Shipperd said at the match-eve media interaction.

At the team’s nets on Monday, their injured spearhead Dirk Nannes was seen bowling but there is hardly any chance of him playing the game.

“He has had his first net in two weeks and he will not be able to take the field on Tuesday,” Shipperd revealed.

The coach, however, conceded that their batsmen have failed to live up to the expectations in the last couple of games. “We lost two good opportunities, otherwise we would have been in the semifinals by now,” the Victorian said adding that his batsmen could find the Brabourne wicket easy to bat on.

Shipperd also agreed with his captain Gautam Gambhir’s views on the Feroz Shah Kotla rectangular. “Kotla is not a fantastic wicket for Twenty20, though we did win three matches there. In the last couple of matches, we saw some variable bounce there.”

Gambhir has been run out in the last three matches and the coach wanted his players to be careful. “Not only Gambhir, all the senior players have to be careful while running,” he said.
