Mumbai: Barring office-goers and hardcore shoppers there were not many who were roaming around in the Phoenix Mills compound late in the afternoon on Saturday. But a few, who reached the venue after braving the torrential rain, got their rewards free of cost.

The lucky ones went home with snaps with all-rounder Irfan Pathan and NBA star Baron Davis during an NBA jam schedule held at the Phoenix Mills. Despite the uninterrupted downpour and utter chaos, both Pathan and Davis enjoyed the moment with the latter showing some of his skills to the Indian cricket star. Pathan even managed to show off what he had learned a few minutes before.

"In India cricket is like a religion but basketball is not that popular. I came here to promote NBA and got to meet one of the biggest stars of the game," Pathan said when quizzed.

Baron also looked in a jovial mood when surrounded by youngsters. "This is a different type of ambience...I am enjoying the moment with so many kids taking interest in this sport. I think India has a lot of potential in basketball too," Baron said.

The Indian all-rounder though found a similarity between T20 cricket and NBA matches. "Both are short duration events that require lot of speed and stamina... I will make sure to watch an NBA match from the stands one day," Pathan said.
