Though All Saints School and St Felix ensured a new name in the list of winners, it was Chidren’s Academy from Mumbai, who stole the limelight on the concluding day of the fourth edition of DNA inter-school hockey tournament at the Police Ground, Shivajinagar, on Friday.

The Academy team, comprising mainly 11-year-old players, gave a strong fight to their physically stronger team All Saints, Khadki. Despite giving a good performance, the Malad-based team ended up on the losing side with a 0-2 verdict. However, the team got a reason to cheer as they received the tournament’s fair play award.

“The players failed to convert even a single penalty corner out of eight. Otherwise, the picture would have been different,” said Academy team official M Patel. However, he said that he has no complaints. “They did a good job. This was a good exposure for them.”
