Doctors associated with the teams of Kenya and South Africa, which participated in the Commonwealth Games held in the capital last year, have not returned a costly medical equipment despite repeated reminders from the health officials.

The reply dated February 18 states that while Indian team doctor had returned the device, those issued to Kenyan doctor Langat D and South African doctor Joanne Kiloy are yet to be received.
AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac conditions and treats by application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm.
The device costs anywhere between Rs5 lakh and Rs8 lakh in the market.
The polyclinic in the Games village had received 27 AEDs along with instructions that they should be returned after the sporting event which concluded on October 14 last year, the reply to activist SC Agrawal said.
"We have received a communication from Dr Sadhna Dewal stating that three team doctors (including Indian team, which has now returned the equipment) have seemingly departed with AED machines in tow," additional director of CWG village polyclinic Dr Vikas Malhotra had written to the director last October.
"Since these devices are very expensive and were issued to the organising committee by the Delhi Health Services on the understanding that they would be returned...I request you to kindly treat this matter as top urgent," the letter said.
