Vishesh Braghuwanshi and Yadwinder Singh played the pivotal role for ONGC, leading them to 70-51 victory over Indian Overseas Bank in the opening match of the semifinal league of the 7th All India Savio Cup-Don Bosco Basketball tournament in Matunga on Thursday. It was also refreshing to see a rejuvenated Trideep Rai play his heart out for winners.
In an inconsequential women’s match, South East Central Railway (Chhattisgarh) used their game against Maharashtra for useful shooting practice, emerging 89-49 winners. It was a team effort that scripted South East Central Railway’s (SECR) victory. Maharashtra failed to keep the momentum and the score difference increased to 30 by the third quarter 69-38. Aviya Dharve’s defense was commendable though.
