Tamil Nadu batsmen Subramaniam Badrinath and Murali Vijay today said that they were delighted with their selection in the 15-member Indian team for the first two Tests against Sri Lanka, starting November 16 in Ahmedabad.

"I am really happy that I have got a place in the Indian Test team. I will try to make the best out of this opportunity," Badrinath told reporters here.

"I am looking forward to my Test debut this time against Sri Lanka which is good team," he said.

Badrinath, 29, had made it to the Test squad for Australia's 2008-09 tour of India, but was not selected for any of the matches.

The middle-order batsman had played a brilliant knock of 111 in TN's first match against Railways in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old opener Vijay, who has played one Test, was upbeat after his selection in the national squad.

"It's always a good feeling to play for the country. And right now I am playing good cricket and that's what I want to do for the country," Vijay said.
