Andre Villas-Boas doesn't want to risk FA rap with comments on Alex Ferguson

Tottenham Hotspurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that he doesn't want to risk another penalty or fine by the Football Association (FA) by commenting about Premier League managers, especially Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Portuguese coach said he would love to air his views, but feared another FA rap if he spoke his mind, the Daily Star reports.

Villas-Boas, who also revealed he had little contact with Ferguson unlike other Premier League bosses, was fined 12,000 pounds by the FA for blasting referee Chris Foy last season after his former team Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at QPR.

Asked if Ferguson's powerful personality influences referees, Villas-Boas said, "It's an interesting question, but it is one that, in this country, is impossible to respond to. It would be brilliant to be able to, but I paid a very high fine last time and I don't want to do that again."
