Ana Ivanovic explains career slump

Tennis star, Ana Ivanovic believes that the fall in her game happened due to both technical and mental reasons.

The tennis star is a former world No. 1 who won her first grand slam at 21 in 2008, however today she is ranked 18 on the WTA rankings.

“When you lose a few matches, doubts begin to creep into your mind,” Gulf News quoted her as saying.

“It is all about finding that fine balance. My game wasn’t matching my mental state and sometimes it was vice versa, so it was a combination of both forces that made me slip.

“I think that if you want to be at the top in professional sports, then all the essentials have to be married to each other,” she said.
