BR Nikshep from Karnataka did justice to his top billing as the rest fell apart in the AITA Super Series quarterfinals at the South Club clay courts, in Kolkata on Thursday.
Top seed in boys singles U-16 Deepak Vishwakarma of Uttar Pradesh was made to bite the dust when promising Bengal youngster Nitin Kumar Sinha registered a thumping 6-2 6-4 win.
In the girls singles U-14, top seed Sruta Gunaganti from Andhra Pradesh was shown the exit by Tamil Nadu's Abnikka R who won 6-2 6-4.
Second seed in same section, Akshara Iska went down fighting against Nandini Sharma from Punjab by a close 6-7 (5) 6-7 (4) margin.
But Nikshep kept his flag high in the boys U-14 as he thrashed unseeded Karandeep Singh of Punjab 6-0 6-0.
