The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has released Baichung Bhutia from the ongoing National Football Camp held here in preparation for the Asian Cup, after an MRI scan revealed a calf muscle stretch.
Bhutia, who is given one week time for rest to recover from his injury, is expected to see a specialist in Mumbai on Friday before completing his rehabilitation in Kolkata.
Dempo's duo Mahesh Gawli and Samir Naik who are recovering from injuries are the other players who have not joined the camp.
