Rain delayed the start of the India A vs West Indies A match on Sunday, but once the match started it was batting of high calibre that was on display.
India A's captain Yuvraj Singh who last played an ODI in January showed that class is permanent as he hammered 123 off 89 balls. In the brutal batting display on show, the 31-year-old hit eight fours and seven sixes making the Windies bowlers chase leather at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
India 'A' scored 312 for four from 42 overs in the first of the three-match unofficial ODI series against West Indies 'A'.
Yuvraj was ably helped in his run slaughter by Mandeep Singh and Yusuf Pathan who scored 67 and 70 not out respectively.
Many critics have cast doubts about Yuvraj's form after his cancer battle even though he fought the episode bravely and was playing for India again. Bad form meant that the man who is known for his batting prowess had to sit out of the Indian playing XI.
With his power-hitting and awesome shots, Yuvraj reminded on-lookers of the left-handed destruction man who slammed six sixes and helped India to numerous wins that have become part of cricket folklore.
Sunday's super show is sure to have helped Yuvraj's cause as he seeks to get back in the India team.
