Yuvraj Singh's father claims Dhoni responsible for son's exclusion from World Cup squad

Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh has held Indian captain MS Dhoni responsible for the non-selection of his son for the 2015 World Cup.

Many experts and fans alike had thought Yuvraj would find a place in at least the 30-man probables for the World Cup. But the selectors ignored him despite a good performance in the Ranji Trophy for Punjab.

According to his father, Yuvraj was pushed away from the list on the insistence of skipper Dhoni who has poor personal relations with the dashing left-handed batsman. Yograj accused Dhoni of playing politics to prevent the selection of Yuvraj.

"If MS Dhoni is having personal issues with my son, I won't do anything, God will do justice. Pray India wins World Cup under your captaincy (MS Dhoni) but nothing can be more sad that you behaved this way," Yograj claimed.

Yuvraj Singh meanwhile, is said to have distanced himself from his father's remarks. The dashing left-hander, who was once the mainstay of India's ODI batting, lost form and fitness a few years ago and had been in and out of the team before his non-selection in the World Cup squad. 

However, Singh's poor form and fitness worries did not stop Delhi Daredevils from purchasing him for a whooping Rs 16 crores at the IPL 8 auction on Monday. 

India have beaten Pakistan by 76 runs in their first match at the World Cup and will face South Africa on Sunday.
