WWE recruits two new Indian origin atheletes

The World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) has added two new Indian atheletes to their roster; Lovepreet Singh Sangha and Satender Ved Pal.

WWE announced that two premier athletes from India, including former World Kabbadi League Champion Lovepreet Sangha and two-time Kushti National Heavyweight Champion Satender Ved Pal,  have joined WWE NXT, the professional wrestling developmental branch for WWE.

“The addition of two elite athletes from India to the NXT family underscores WWE’s global reach and popularity,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President.

 

Lovepreet and Satender join the latest class of international recruits at the Performance Center,  who hail from Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, Serbia, Germany, Canada and the United States.

Satender, who hailsfrom Haryana, was crowned 2-time Kushti Indian National Heavyweight Champion. Being a professional wrestler, Satender's inspiration from WWE was- The Undertaker. The 34-year-old stands at a height of 6'4" and weighs around 105 kilos.

Aged 27, Lovepreet Singh was one of the top raiders in the World Kabaddi League in 2014 and a member of the team that won the league championship. In an audio extract with our reporter, he claims his inspiration to be Dwayne "The Rock"  Johnson and that he had his poster on his wall!

Though just in the developmental branch of WWE, they are expected to join the WWE later.
