A team's success does not rest on the performance of one or two select players. Former India captain Rahul Dravid shares similar sentiments.

When asked if particularly there was more responsibility and pressure on Virat Kohli unlike 2011 he says " When you are playing six batsmen there is responsibility on everyone. Its a big, long tour. You can't put pressure on Kohli or Dhoni alone. For a winning formula one or two boys' performance will not matter. All your six, seven of the playing eleven need to click.  Contributions from all departments- bowling, opening, middle order is is needed if the guys want to have a good tournament."

Shikhar Dhawan has drawn flak for his flop performance on the test tour to Australia. Many even questioned his batting abilities on foreign soil.

"Shikhar Dhawan would like a few more runs and his performance in ODIs over the last one year has been very good. Judging him on two or three failures and a failed tour of Australia is wrong. He has earned the right to be patient. We need to back him and when he starts firing in the quarterfinals stage and further on, his form will be invaluable to India. Once he gets a few more games and playing different oppositions India will attain the kind of form the need" said Dravid of the struggling left-handed batsman.

Dravid also seemed positive of Rohit Sharma. "You can't help the fact that Rohit picked up an injury and that is unfortunate. He will come back and things might start looking much better" he said.

As the World Cup draws near Virat Kohli's batting slot remains a speculation. Whether it is the no.3 or 4 slot there is no clarity as yet. However, Dravid feels that since Ravindra Jadeja was injured and India felt that Stuart Binny and Axar Patel (coming in at no.7) at this stage is a bit inexperienced for India which is why they held back Virat. "I would like to see him once 10-12 overs are done so that would give him time to get set", the test great adds

Dravid is confident and positive that our young and inexperienced squad is capable of defending the title.

"Its going to be challenging. We have the match-winners. If the good squad, combination and balance, all come together then India can make it to the quarters and later its a question of three good games. However its an open World Cup. During the knock out stages form will not matter because from thereon it will be the team who can handle pressure better. They'll make the quarterfinals."
