Zimbabwe cricket team captain Elton Chigumbura believes that when it comes to strategies they have an added bonus as their head coach Dav Whatmore has worked with Pakistan earlier.

Zimbabwe have pinned their hopes on coach Whatmore's inside knowledge of Pakistan's talent and well-known frailties when the teams meet for their World Cup clash on Sunday.

Whatmore coached Pakistan for two years from 2012, but he was signed by Zimbabwe for the 2015 World Cup and has so far overseen a win over the United Arab Emirates and two losses to South Africa and West Indies, The Dawn reported.

Defeat for either side at Brisbane's Gabba ground on Sunday is likely to be fatal to their hopes of reaching the quarterfinals from Pool B.

Chigumbura believes that Whatmore, who coached Sri Lanka to the 1996 world title, knows where Pakistan are at their most vulnerable. He said that the coach knows almost everyone on the team, so he added that when it comes to strategies and stuff, it's much better to have someone who has been working with Pakistan guys.

So, the skipper said that they have got more information, adding that they just have to go and execute their plans. He insisted that the coach has brought a lot of positives into the team, and everyone is comfortable in the way Whatmore is sharing his experience, claiming that it's been good.
