West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy has warned his teammates of early World Cup exit following Ireland's four-wicket victory over Jason Holder's team in Nelson on Monday.

Reflecting on team's performance, Sammy said that if they continue to play like that 'they wouldn't be there for long', Sport24 reported.

Sammy added that the batting partnerships should have been 'motivation enough' for the bowlers 'to want to run into the Irish', but they were 'lackadaisical' in the field.

The all-rounder, who smacked 89 runs off 67 deliveries during the match, further said that they have got to 'keep believing' and they need to find some 'inspiration' quickly.

West Indies will next meet Pakistan on Saturday at Hagley Oval.
