World Cup 2015: David Miller claims Proteas raring to go in quarterfinals

South Africa's middle order batsman David Miller has claimed that the squad has put their 'couple of upsets' behind them and are 'raring to go' in the Cricket World Cup quarterfinals.

Miller, who scored 49 as South Africa recorded a 146-run win over the United Arab Emirates to secure a quarterfinal berth, said that South Africa were not dwelling on Pool B losses to India and Pakistan. He admitted that they have had a couple of upsets but insisted that he always believe that might happen in group stages.

But, Miller added that as they move forward, he believes that they have shown over the last year and a half the consistency they can play with, Sport24 reported.

Miller claimed that he believes that the boys would be raring to go come that quarterfinal and are preparing really hard for it.

South Africa's likely quarterfinal opponents are Sri Lanka, the 1996 champions who have a formidable batting line up capable of setting big totals. And while critics such as former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith have questioned the squad's ability to chase down targets when batting second, Miller said that it was not a concern.

Miller attributed the shock defeat against Pakistan, when South Africa were all out for 202 chasing 232, down to bad luck on the night. He said that this is sometimes a cruel game, it's the way it goes, but added that they have performed chasing, so he doesn't believe that there's any areas where they need to improve.
