The blow was softened by the chair's upholstery.
The man and his friend, neither in an identifiable team jersey, ran from the club. Miller claimed that then other people were punching and throwing other furniture, adding that it lasted about a minute but in a minute it was an 'unbelievably ugly scene'.
Miller insisted that when the police came it put 'oil on troubled waters'. Police are examining CCTV footage and expect to be able to identify everyone involved in the incident promptly, the report added.
