Apparently there is no dearth of arm twisting ideas in global cricket. If the Indian cricket board, after their loss of face in revenue sharing issue, is considering pulling out of upcoming Champions Trophy, the other bodies have a counter strategy in the form of calling back their players from the Indian Premier League.

At the same time, differing voices within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are getting louder that they should avoid further isolation after near complete rout in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting in Dubai on Wednesday.

The BCCI office-bearers, Amitabh and Aniruddh Chaudhary, are considering invoking the "Members' Participation Agreement". They are even contemplating issuing a legal notice in a United Kingdom court to the ICC for not adhering to 2014 revenue sharing model as agreed upon during N Srinivasan's tenure.

However, there are senior members, who want BCCI to accept the new world order and start exploiting internal resources like the IPL to make up for lost revenue.

"How can we even think of boycotting an ICC event like Champions Trophy?" asked a member of the IPL Governing Council, adding: "Do we want other countries to withdraw their players from the ongoing IPL?"

India have apparently been sounded by all other big cricketing nations during ICC Board meeting that "they would be forced to withdraw their players from IPL in case BCCI decides to boycott CT".

No ICC deadline

Talking about India skipping the deadline to name its squad for the CT, An ICC insider told DNA that it will have no adverse impact on India.

"Please bear in mind that squads are required to be submitted to the ICC so that it can use the teams and players for merchandise as well as event promotion and publicity purposes," said the source.

"As regards non-submission of squads within the deadline, there is no sanction or penalty under the MPA. It means that the squads can be announced till the eve of the first game and the ICC will have no problem with it."

Telecast issue

Meanwhile, ICC has apparently started taking pre-emptive steps to ensure that there should not have any last-minute hurdle in CT telecast from England.

DNA has learnt that another global television company's top officials were asked to rush to Dubai on Thursday to discuss a contingency plan, in case BCCI disgruntled officials manage to pursue official broadcasters to withdraw at the last moment.

"Please understand that IPL telecast right for next five years are also part of IPL GC meeting agenda on May 5. How come any broadcaster can even think of going to such an extent of giving CT a miss. This simply means that the TV company will be strictly barred from bidding process," said the IPL GC member.

Last but not the least, a source close to Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) is hopeful that ICC's offer of an extra $100 million made by chairman Shashank Manohar is still on. With Chowdhary not ready to settle for less than the $570 million the BCCI has been demanding, COA's formula of settling around $445 million also fell flat in Dubai.

It is expected that Manohar might meet the COA in the coming days with the offer he has made to settle the unpleasant atmosphere. But before that BCCI is likely to convene an Emergent Meeting next week to discuss the Dubai debacle.

ICC revenue model for next eight years :

BCCI --- $293 million
ECB --- $143 million
Zimbabwe --- $94m
All others (seven in all): $132m each
Associate members: $280m total.
