Picture this -  For a player who was once considered amongst India's best batsmen, southpaw Yuvraj Singh is struggling to face the fact that his glory days of wearing the dark blue jersey are all but gone.

Though for the second year in succession, Yuvraj earned the tag of Indian Premier League's (IPL) most expensive player (Delhi Daredevils lapped him up for Rs 16 crore in the ongoing 2015 auctions), still the fact rankles that the talented batsman may well have to be content with the cash-rich IPL, while the rest of his team-mates gun for World Cup glory Down Under.

Ironically life may well have come full circle for Yuvraj, at least as far as the IPL is concerned, after Royal Challengers Bangalore unceremoniously discarded him post their 14 crore bid last season.

Despite missing out on the World Cup bandwagon, Yuvraj's bleak future does have a silver lining, as the flashy left-hander can use the upcoming IPL season as a launch pad to salvage his stuttering career.

Yuvraj Singh had a good run with RCB in the previous edition of IPL

Despite fresh controversies erupting in the media over his ouster from Team India,Yuvraj can still prove a thing or two to critics with a stellar performance in the upcoming T-20 league.

Also the fact that Yuvraj slammed three centuries in the recent domestic season for Punjab is proof of the fact that the 33-year old is not a finished product as yet and can still deliver with the willow.

The IPL is a tournament where Yuvraj has always done well, and given last season's performance (he scored 376 runs at an average of 34.18), the stage looks set for him to replicate his previous heroics.

Given the current scenario, while it may be unwise to predict as to whether Yuvraj can barnstorm back into the Indian team post the IPL, the fact still remains that the tournament provides him with a gilt-edged chance to shut up critics and inch his way back into the lime-light.

So as time ticks away, Yuvraj may well consider the India snub as a blessing in disguise and focus on the IPL, which would all but resurrect his flagging career.

And if yes...then Yuvraj will have readily done the Full Monty!
