Will FIFA U-17 World Cup bring Cristiano Ronaldo to India?

All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to making FIFA U-17 World Cup a grand spectacle. After announcing that Spanish World Cup winner Carlos Puyol will visit India in May to launch the ticket sales for the event, the sporting body now has contacted Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo to attend the FIFA U-17 World Cup draw in Mumbai on July 7.

AIFF president Praful Patel told media, "We are talking to Portugal Football Federation. We also are trying to interact with Ronaldo’s agent. If he is free on that particular day, he will be gracing the FIFA U-17 World Cup draw function in Mumbai on July 7."

Ronaldo's presence will definitely elevate the enthusiasm for the tournament set to take place in October. Portuguese skipper's arrival will surely pull bigger crowds than expected.

As the hosts, for the first time, the Indian team will be able to play in a FIFA tournament. The FIFA Under-17 World Cup will start on October 6 and the final will be played in Kolkata on October 28.
