It is often wondered how Indian cricketers, who have played under the leadership of both Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni - two of the greatest captains of the nation, feel about the legendary skippers.
The immediate successors of the 'Fab Five' (Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Laxman and Kumble) of Indian cricket are often asked to choose between Dada and Mahi. While some answer the question diplomatically, Yuvraj Singh proved he is not one of them.
In a recent Q&A session with Radio Mirchi, when Yuvraj was asked to name the best captain that he has played under, the stylish left-hander didn't waste a single minute and pat came his answer, "Sourav Ganguly". "I started my career under Sourav and I think he is the one who put this team together and supported players like myself, Ashish (Nehra), (Virender) Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan (Singh). So probably he would be the best captain," Yuvi said.
Well, Yuvraj has also played under Dhoni for a fairly long time and just like Ganguly, Dhoni backed the Punjab lad at crucial junctures of his career, when he wasn't performing at the top of his mark. However, the vote went in favour of Dada because he stood beside Yuvraj during the time when he was a greenhorn.
