As good and efficient as the Dutch have been, playing Spain in the final will be a completely different proposition. Their star-studded midfield and forward line, who have netted 12 goals so far, will be put to test against their European counterparts who have the best defensive record. Holland have enough quality to trouble any defence in the world, and with Arjen Robben on the right, Dirk Kuyt on the left and Robin van Persie up front, they always have plenty of options. They will have to ensure they do not allow Spain to dominate the possession.
Also, defence is a big concern for Bert van Marwijk. They have conceded five goals in this World Cup, which shows the frailty in their defence. Too add to their worries, Maarten Stekelenburg seems to be very ordinary in front of the goal. “We realise that against Spain we can’t afford such mistakes. We will have to be smart while defending against this Spanish side. But my boys are ready for the challenge,” Van Marwijk said.
Strength
Have strong a midfield with Sneijder marshalling the troops. They also are versatile in their attacking approaches. And with Robben on the right and Kuyt crossing from the left, they always seem to have plenty of options.

When in the dire need of goals, for example against Brazil in the quarters, the Dutch have had to turn to the likes of Robben and Sneijder instead of him.
