Wayne Rooney favourite to succeed Steven Gerrard as England captain

Wayne Rooney is emerging as the favourite to become the new England captain after Steven Gerrard quit international football last night. Gerrard called time on a glorious England career that saw him win 114 caps to become one of the true greats of the game.
