Out of favour Indian batsman, Yuvraj Singh roared back to form by registering his 25th first-class century during Punjab's second match of the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season on Thursday.

Electing to bat first against Madhya Pradesh in Lahli (Rohtak), the southpaw was called into action as early as the sixth over with his side reeling at 15 for 2. However, unaffected by what was going around him, Yuvraj shared an 180-run third wicket stand with Jiwanjot Singh and then ended the day with an unbeaten 152-run partnership with Gurkeerat Singh (101 off 102 balls).

The veteran batsman was very orthodox in his way of approach. He was more than happy to bide his time in the middle while pouncing on bad deliveries. Scoring at a strike rate of 68.04, Yuvi remained unconquered on 164 off 241 balls with 24 boundaries to his name. He hardly let his emotions dictate terms barring one incident when he celebrated his century like a 24-year old youngster.

Yuvraj, who had last played an ODI in December 2013 was ignored for the first three ODIs of the upcoming New Zealand series, but this kind of an innings was the perfect way to remind the selectors that he is still not finished.
