Watch: Unnecessary interruption as iguana halts a tennis match

A tennis match at the Miami Open between Tommy Haas and Jiri Vesely was interrupted after an iguana ran onto the court.

Both Haas and Vesely were battling through their first round match at the even when the reptile parched itself on the scoreboard before doing a lap of the court while the organisers tried to catch it.

Haas, amused by the event, even took a selfie with the reptile and shared it on his Instagram account.

Eventually, the iguana was escorted away from the action and he’s definitely enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame!

After the commotion, Vesely went on to beat Haas 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 7-5.
