WATCH | #INDvAUS: Umpire Gaffaney gives Pujara 'Out' and then hilariously rectifies mistake

Kiwi umpire Chris Gaffaney recreated a Billy Bowden moment as he was involved in a comedy of errors that sparked hilarious reactions from the commentators on Sunday in Day 4 of the third Test between Indian and Australia in Ranchi. 

The incident occurred during the 140th over of Indian innings, when Josh Hazelwood was bowling to Cheteshwar Pujara. The pacer produced a well directed bouncer that prompted Pujara to play a hook shot, that failed to touch the willow and directed straight into the hands of wicket-keeper Matthew Wade. 

Despite Hazelwood not going for the appeal, there was a half shout from captain Steve Smith and other fielders placed in the slip cordon. Caught in two minds about the decision, at first umpire Gaffaney raised his finger to give Pujara 'out' and then suddenly midway through his motion, went on to pretend scratching his head.
