Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh go back a long way. Both played the better parts of their international careers together and gave Indian cricket some historic moments along the way. From playing instrumental roles in guiding their team to the World T20 title back in 2007, to being together at the crease during that immortal moment at the Wankhede Stadium in 2011 when India clinched the World Cup after 28 years, the duo have seen it all.

Yograj Singh might argue that MSD was the reason why his son Yuvraj's stay in Team India hit regular bumps, but Indian cricket aficionados know only too well that Mahi and Yuvi's partnership is one of the best our country has ever had. The duo have thrived in each other's presence and the mutual respect between them has been there for all to see.

And a glimpse of that was on display on Tuesday night after India A lost the first practice match against England at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. This was the last time Captain Cool was leading the Men in Blue and as expected the emotions were running high and chants of "Dhoni..Dhoni" roared inside the Cricket Club of India all day.

A lot has been said since MSD decided to relinquish captaincy of India's limited overs sides last week. Team-mates, former cricketers and fans from far and wide have waxed eloquent on the impact of Dhoni's leadership on Indian cricket and the rich legacy he leaves behind.

Even though India A lost the match on Tuesday, the fact that Dhoni would not be seen leading an Indian team ever again was not lost on anyone. The loss didn't seem bitter as fans got to see some vintage Dhoni sixes as the 35-year-old smashed an unbeaten 68 off 40 balls.

But for MSD fans, the best moment of Tuesday came well after the match was over. A video taken by Yuvraj in the dressing room, minutes after the match, shows the wonderful chemistry between him and Mahi. With their arms resting on each other's shoulders, the duo thank each other for their contributions to Indian cricket and reflect on their journey together.

Here's the heartwarming video posted by Yuvi:
