Ever since it was found out that quite a few big names of England cricket team would be available for the upcoming IPL auctions, speculations were rife whether maverick all-rounder Ben Stokes would be picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who are weak in the bowling department.

However, Virat Kohli, who captains RCB and has had a few run-ins with the Englishman, may have just given a strict 'no, no' to the selection of Stokes in his team.

In the press conference ahead of India's first T20 against England at Kanpur, Kohli was asked whether the franchises would be closely analysing the Brits given that many of them would be in line to join Jos Buttler and Sam Billings in IPL.

Kohli was clear in his reply saying, "There's no doubt about the talent in this English side. But as you mentioned, the small window is going to be an issue for the IPL teams. Franchises don't want to spend that much money on the players who aren't available for the whole tournament.

"Plus he comes in, gives great balance to the side and leaves at a crucial stage of the tournament, that really doesn't help. We would rather prefer to have a guy who lasts the whole tournament. But this is totally my point of view, franchises may differ from my thinking."

Kohli does have a point in what he said because in the past teams have struggled when star foreigners have left them midway through IPL and gone on to play for their respective countries.

So unless RCB management thinks differently, we are not going to see a Kohli-Stokes combo in the cash-rich league.
