Indian fans didn't have much to smile about on Friday as Australian left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe rattled the star studded line-up in first Test to hand a huge advantage to his team who came here as underdogs. Indians didn't have the luck on their side also as they dropped as many as four catches. But Ravindra Jadeja, with his entertaining attitude still found a way to make the Indians giggle.

During Australia's second innings under sweltering sun, Jadeja was constantly beating skipper Steve Smith with his turn. Jadeja kept trying hard and on one such occasion when Smith played and missed, the Indian impersonated the preparatory actions of the fidgety Aussie by shrugging his shoulders and swaying his head in a funny way. Smith, who was concentration personified till then, couldn't help but laugh at what the spinner was doing.

Later, India coach Anil Kumble while complimenting O'Keefe, said that Jadeja also beat the bat constantly but failed to take the edge of the bat. "I think he bowled steady. He bowled consistently in good areas. Like I mentioned, there were a couple of soft dismissals, and that pushed us back. It was one of those days where we saw Jadeja bowl in the last session where probably every over he was beating the bat three times. It was one of those days where on another day, that could have all taken the edge."

O'Keefe picked up six wickets in 24 deliveries, including three in an over, to trigger a spectacular collapse and help Australia bundle out India for 105 in their first innings on Friday.

Replying to Australia's 260, world's top-ranked side India, unbeaten in their previous 19 tests, lost their last seven wickets for 11 runs as O'Keefe ran through their batting to finish with figures of 6-35, his maiden five-wicket haul.

Australia took a first innings lead of 155, a significant advantage on a spin-friendly track at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, which is making its debut as a test centre. The touring side, which have lost their last nine tests in Asia and were considered underdogs before the start of the four-match series, reached 143 for four at stumps in their second innings, an overall lead of 298 runs.
