India's one-off Test against Bangladesh got underway in Hyderabad on Thursday, with the visitors hoping to taste success in their first ever Test on Indian soil.

Mushfiqur Rahim's men had just the start they were looking for after Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to have a bat. New-ball bowler Taskin Ahmed removed KL Rahul for two and the Bangla Tigers, with their tails up, were on the charge for a couple of more wickets.

And they didn't have to wait for an opportunity for too long as Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara decided to be good hosts and oblige their guests. Running well between wickets has never been the strongest suit for both these classy top-order Indian batsmen, and they gave another glimpse of that on Thursday.

The comedy of errors transpired when Vijay nudged off-spinner Mehedi Hasan's delivery to square leg, early on in the youngster's spell. Hesitation, poor calling, and a complete lack of communication led to both the Indian batsmen landing up at the same end as the fielder gathered the ball.

However, the Bangladeshi players were not to be left behind. It was their turn to add to the humour. Mehedi made a complete mess and failed to gather a poor throw by Kamrul Islam Rabbi, which allowed a sprinting Vijay to get back safely into the crease.

Here's the comical turn of events:

All's well that ends well. Vijay and Pujara would say.
