The 'Angry Young Man' of Indian cricket is slowly but surely dishing out his soft, sensual and romantic self. Around 12:30 am local time on Wednesday, Virat Kohli posted a tweet that could go a long way in proving that he is a diligent boyfriend who loves to celebrate the success of his lady love. That's how it's supposed to be, right?

"Just watched #NH10 and i am blown away. What a brilliant film and specially an outstanding performance by my love @AnushkaSharma. SO PROUD:)," the post read. Within minutes, it was retweeted, favourited and replied to a few thousand times. For the record, Kohli has nearly six million followers on the micro-blogging site. The film's promoters must be thrilled.

If nothing, this is #KohliUnplugged. They say love changes you for the better. Kohli would agree.

At the MCG on Tuesday afternoon, Kohli received loud cheers from a group of elders undertaking a tour of the iconic venue. No sooner did they see Kohli step onto the field for Team India's optional training session than they clapped in unison. Kohli knew he was the cynosure of all eyes. And he acknowledged the cheers before doing a little jig. He was literally blushing.

Thanks to the huge expat population in Australia, Bollywood sell big time. NH10 has hit the screens in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. In Melbourne, the movie is being shown at two outlets of Village Cinemas — Knox and Sunshine. While Knox is 30 km away from The Langham, the hotel where Team India is put up, the latter is about 19 km away. It's not known where Kohli watched the movie or, for that matter, who accompanied him.

According to the website of Village Cinemas, NH10 is about how "a woman, stacked against all odds, manages to not just stick it out but indeed give it back." The movie has already received rave reviews.

Sharma was to join Kohli in Australia for the remainder of the tournament. She was to land in Melbourne at around 7:00 on Wednesday morning. But according to a reliable source, she did not turn up at T2 on Tuesday night for her Mumbai-Dubai-Melbourne trip on a business class ticket with Emirates Airline. Nor did three others who were supposed to travel with her. A call to her publicist confirmed this. "I don't generally comment on my stars' personal travel plans, but I can tell you that Anushka is busy promoting her new movie. She is also scheduled to travel to Bangkok to shoot an ad film. That apart, she has to dub for Bombay Velvet. She will be occupied till the end of the month. So, she is unlikely to travel to Australia for the World Cup," Monika Bhattacharya told dna. For the record, the World Cup final is on March 29.

That's disappointing news. For Kohli, of course.

Given that the BCCI has allowed the players to usher in their partners for the remainder of the tournament, it would be nice if Sharma could somehow find time and make a flying visit. Apart from her man, she will have the company of Ayesha Mukherjee (the Melbourne-based wife of Shikhar Dhawan), Tanya Wadhwa (Umesh Yadav's better half) and Prithi Narayanan (R Ashwin's spouse).

While Mukherjee, a kick-boxing instructor who lives in the suburb of Berwick, joined Dhawan on Monday with their old-year-old son Zoravar, Wadhwa and Narayanan checked in on Tuesday. The city was abuzz with St Patrick's Day celebrations, and Ashwin and his wife enjoyed the evening on the Yarra riverfront. They happily posed for the shutterbugs before walking on the 'Lovelock Bridge' and making their way to Flinders Walk.

Some of the Bangladesh players, including star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, have also been joined by their partners.
