Despite failing to make a mark with the bat in the current Border-Gavaskar series, Virat Kohli hasn't lost the faith of many fans. And the latest one being former England all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff who is said to be a big admirer of the Indian captain batting skills. Speaking to metro.co.uk about Kohli's batting prowess in the longer format, Flintoff said, "You watch him play and the one thing that’s so impressive is that in Test cricket he’s got all the shots and tricks but decides to get his head down and grind runs out. "

Previously, Kohli slipped to fourth place in the ICC Best Test Batsmen with Australian captain Steve Smith at the top, followed by Kiwi star Kane Williamson and Englishman Joe Root in the second and third place respectively. But comparing Kohli to the rest of the international captains, Flintoff  feels the Indian captain is still a level ahead of the rest.

“They’re all (Smith, Williamson, Root and Kohli) very, very good players but Virat is head and shoulders above all of them,” the former Englishman said ahead of the third Test in Ranchi.

Speaking about Kohli's approach in the limited overs format, Flintoff could not stop boasting about Kohli further. “In the short-form of the game he just hits boundaries without looking like taking a risk. He’s in complete control. The other three I mentioned are very good players but Kohli is on a different planet."

The former England international didn't stop there however, and said he'd love to have a go at Kohli,”I would’ve loved to have a bowl at him but I honestly don’t know what his weaknesses are."
