Pakistani batsman Younis Khan, who scored hundreds in both innings of the Dubai Test against Australia, has thanked batting coach Grant Flower and trainer Grant Luden for his splendid performance.

However, Younis refused to give credit to the board or the selectors in the aftermath of Pakistan's 221-run win. He had criticised the selectors and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), after being dropped for the ODI series against Australia.

The former skipper had also offered to step down from the Test side, but the PCB avoided taking any disciplinary action against him, despite confirming that Younis had violated the code of conduct for players, The Dawn reported.

Younis avoided mentioning the names of team manager Moin Khan, also chief selector and head coach Waqar Younis, or the PCB, at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Host Ramiz Raja, a former Pakistan captain, urged him to give credit to the board, but Younis was in no mood to be generous.

Younis instead credited Luden and Flower, for working hard with him before the Test, and helping him get ready for the match, both psychologically and mentally, to face a top class Australian attack.

He concluded by saying that despite being hit a couple of times on the body, he managed to stay firm throughout the match.
