Umpire Nadir Shah suffered a blow on his forehead during the Dhaka Premier League match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Kalabagan Cricket Academy in Fatullah on Tuesday. Shah was standing at the square leg position when Ezaz Ahmed played a sweep shot off the offspinner Mahmudul Hasan. The ball took a deflection off the hand of Taposh Ghosh, who was fielding at square leg, and hit Shah's forehead.

Shah instantly went down and had to be attended to by a physio. He was immediately taken off-field and was replaced by reserve umpire Shyful Islam.

In a report from ESPNCricinfo, Shah said, "I was off the field for the rest of the game, "I am back at home now and will be going to the doctor soon. There's a bump on my forehead and I feel dizzy. The physio put ice on the injured spot and gave me a pain-killer at the ground."

Nadir Shah was the centre of headlines when he was caught in a TV sting operation appearing to agree to give decisions on demand for money as an umpire during the 2012 ICC World Twenty20. Although he denied all the allegations, he was banned for 10 years by the Bangladesh Cricket Board in March 2013. In February 2016, the BCB lifted the ban on Shah and made him eligible to stand as an umpire in domestic matches in Bangladesh.
