In a thrilling encounter, Telugu Titans and U Mumba played out a draw, with U Mumba squandering a huge advantage during their Pro Kabaddi League match at the NSCI here on Thursday.
U Mumba had a nine-point lead at half-time but Rahul Chaudhry inspired Telugu Titans' resurgance as the match ended 25-25.
The Titans are now third in the table with 40 points from 12 games, while U Mumba are a spot below them in fourth with 35 points from 11 games.
Chaudhry scored two points in the third minute as the Titans led 3-0, after which Rakesh Kumar scored his first raid point in the fourth minute to open U Mumba's account. The Titans looked in good form in the opening minutes as Chaudhry scored another raid point to give his team 6-2 lead after eight minutes. U Mumba's defence got them back in the game as they tied the game at 6-6 after 11 minutes.
Anup Kumar led from the front and was equally good in attack as well as defence for U Mumba. U Mumba inflicted an all out in the 17th minute to lead 13-7. With Chaudhry struggling to get raid points, Titans looked down and out and went into the break trailing 7-16.
The Titans's defensive unit got their act together at the start of second half and scored a tackle point as they trailed 9-16 after 24 minutes. Chaudhry then scored with a raid in the 25th minute as Titans cut their deficit to 11-16.
Titans then pounced on U Mumba with an all out in 28th minute and trailed 16-17. U Mumba looked clueless after the lemon break, scoring just one point in eight minutes.
