At the US Open, Rafael Nadal was hailed as the favourite to win the last Grand Slam of the year, but at Flushing Meadows it has been Novak Djokovic who has looked solid.
The World No1 hasn't dropped a set yet and is slowly finding his groove as he made the quarter-final on Tuesday night. Nadal dropped a set in his fourth round match on Monday night in a tie-break and the duo are set to clash in the final as the ATPs top players if they both get through their draws.
Andy Murray and David Ferrer may look to deny the top players from making the final.
In the women's game on the other hand top seed and home hope Serena Williams has blown away her opponents. The 31-year-old American in the quarter-final demolished Carla Suarez-Navarro 6-0, 6-0.
World No2 Victoria Azarenka who is the Australian Open champion is looking for a second Grand Slam this year like Serena but has looked scrappy in her last few games though she managed to dig deep and win in both.
Their rivals may be seeking the title and the top spot in the ATP and WTA rankings, but Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are letting their tennis do the final talking.
