Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has had a successful record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as captain. After two fruitless stints with the Delhi Daredevils, the Delhi batsman moved to Shah Rukh Khan's franchise and achieved instant glory, winning two IPL titles as skipper.
And already sitting on the no.2 spot of the IPL table behind Mumbai Indians, Gambhir's men look in contention to win their third title. Gambhir has been one of India's most agressive batsmen in the 21st century and was the obvious choice at top order irrespective of who captained India.
The left-handed batsman has played under the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli during his glittery career. But when asked who was his pick as the best captain, Gambhir chose Dhoni among the other difficult options available to him.

Gambhir made a surprising pick despite his alleged rift with the former Indian captain, where he was dropped from the Indian cricket team in 2013. The 35-year-old then returned to action 3 years later, when India hosted New Zealand in the 2016-17 test series. His decent performances earned him a call up for the initial Test matches against England before he was replaced by KL Rahul.
