The striker smashed in from 30 yards early on, giving his side a 3-1 aggregate lead and a key away goal in the third minute. The home side pressed but created little and Tevez squared for Alvaro Morata to finish after half-time.
It left Dortmund needing four goals in the final 20 minutes and Tevez compounded their misery, firing in from 18 yards in the 79th minute to complete his brace that saw Juventus win 5-1 on aggregate, the BBC reported.
The former Manchester United and Manchester City player opened the scoring three weeks ago in Turin and his early blast at Dortmund's Westfalenstadion provided Juventus with a platform to seal their third Champions League quarterfinal spot in nine seasons.
Massimiliano Allegri's side, twice winners of the competition, would be an opponent few would relish being paired with in Friday's draw as with a 14-point cushion in Serie A, they can afford to focus fully on a tilt at a first European Cup win since 1996.
Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp said that his side faced football's biggest challenge in scoring against an Italian side with a lead to defend and in truth, their own poor defending led to them being comfortably picked apart.
Klopp claimed that his side was too harmless, adding that if one doesn't shoot on goal, one can't score. He admitted that every minute the opponent gained in confidence and his side ended up having none, claiming that Juventus were simply better than them, but pointed out that they also had the perfect start after three minutes.
Meanwhile, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said that he is very satisfied because they advanced after playing two very good games, adding that they were disciplined and allowed Dortmund very little without making many fouls.
