Yuki Bhambri on Tuesday became India's number singles player after leaping to number 158 even as Saketh Myneni broke into top-200 for the first time in his career with a jump of 33 places.

Yuki, who finished runner-up at the Samarkand Challenger, gained 22 places for his effort. He jumped past Somdev Devvarman, who now stands at 172. However, it is not best ranking for Yuki as he was ranked 143rd last year in February. The tall and big-serving Saketh is now ranked 196. "The last three weeks have been good. I have another couple of weeks to go and I have always said that as long as I am playing well, results will come," Yuki, who will now strive to make it to the main draw of French Open through qualifier, said. "Hopefully I will remain healthy," the 22-year-old added. In the doubles ranking chart, Rohan Bopanna gained a place to be at number 20 while Leander Paes lost a spot to be at 27th.

Purav Raja was next best at 111. In the WTA charts, Sania Mirza consolidated her number one rank in the doubles. After ending runner-up at WTA Rome event, Sania now has 7940 points, 985 more than second-placed and her partner Martina Hingis.
