Tennis: 'Struggling' Nadal to switch back to old racquet ahead of French Open

In an attempt to regain his form, 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has said that he will use his old racquets until the end of the season.

After losing to world number one Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters and suffering a shock early exit at the Barcelona Open, the Spaniard explained that he has less control over the new racquet as he requires enough time to train and adapt to it, Sport24 reported.

In the absence of Djokovic, Nadal would start the forthcoming Madrid Open as favourites despite his struggles with form.

However, the nine-time French Open champion would also be under a lot of pressure when he goes to defend the title in Madrid.

He admitted that absence of Djokovic will surely provide an opening for other players to win the title.
