Britain number one Andy Murray recovered from a shaky start as he fought back from a set down to cruise into the semifinal of the Miami Open with a win over Dominic Thiem.

The two-time Grand Slam champion defeated his Austrian opponent Thiem 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 after a landmark 500th career win over Kevin Anderson in the last eight on Tuesday.

Reflecting on his performance, Murray said that he was getting himself into break point positions and it was a fine line between going for winners and trying to finish the point and making one's opponent play, the BBC reported.

Murray added that being a good match player was understanding when to go for shots and when to back off a little bit.

Murray will either face Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic or Argentina's Juan Monaco in the last four of the tournament.
