American tennis legend Andre Agassi believes that it would be a beautiful thing to witness if current number one Serena Williams went on to break his wife Steffi Graf's record of 22 Grand Slam titles.

The eight-time Grand Slam champion said that Graf was thrilled with her career and had no regrets, adding that she did everything she could do and that was all she ever cared about, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Earlier this year, Serena Williams bagged her 19th Grand Slam title after beating Maria Sharapova in the Australian Open final at Melbourne.

Reflecting on Williams' consistency, Agassi said that Serena was doing remarkably well, adding that she was arguably the greatest ever, and it would be easy to argue that regardless of 22 or not, the report added.

Agassi added that records are meant to be broken and if Serena does it, it would be a beautiful thing to watch.

Currently, Williams is third on the all time list, behind Australian Margaret Court's total of 24 and Graf's professional era haul of 22.
