Vice captain Surya Kumar Yadav came up with a brilliant hundred to put Mumbai Cricket Assocation in a strong position against Assam Cricket Association on day three of the four day Capt K Thimmappiah memorial cricket tournament in Mysore on Tuesday.
Yadav's ton propelled Mumbai to post a healthy second innings score of 354 for eight before declaring. Akhil Herwadkar made his presence felt with an important 76. The other notable scorers apart from Yadav were skipper Abhishek Nair (47) and Aditya Tare (57*). Assam, in reply, were eight for one when the stumps were drawn.
Assam need another 324 runs to win on the last day.
In another match, Tripura Cricket Association were bundled out for 311 in 80 overs in their first innings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Earlier on Monday, KSCA XI had declared their first innings at 606 for 7 in 142.3 overs. Following on, Tripura, having a conceded huge first innings lead of 295, have a tough task on the last day.
