Mumbai Cricket Association vice-president Ravi Savant is miffed these days. According to sources, association president Sharad Pawar has deputed joint-secretary Dr PV Shetty to represent the MCA at the BCCI's Annual General Meeting. For the record, the Supreme Court has put off the AGM till January 31, 2015.
Savant, also the BCCI's West Zone vice-president, has shot off a letter to Pawar, expressing his displeasure over the decision. "Being the senior vice-president, he was hoping to represent MCA at the AGM. However, he was disappointed when he came to know that Shetty will be going. In his letter, Savant has told Pawar to relieve him off the responsibility of chairing MCA meetings," a managing committee member said on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, the MCA held a managing committee meeting on whether its AGM, slated for December 26, should be postponed considering the ill health of Pawar. The matter will come up for discussion again.
